Bet made her debut in the show ring in February 1999 at an all-breed championship show in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She proceeded to take Winner's Bitch then go on to take Best Puppy in Breed. She competed in a field of eight puppies for Best Puppy in the Sporting Group and won!! We were very excited for her. She was off to a great start for the weekend. She took Winner's Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed at the two subsequent shows, so she loaded up on ribbons for her first outing. (She lost Best of Breed to Wager at both shows.) Her big baby blue Best Puppy in Group ribbon made a great Valentine gift!
She competed in Winnipeg in May and took a Winner's Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex to Wager's Best of Breed.  She took 2nd at the Canadian National Specialty in Vancouver in the 9-12 month class. Continuing her winning ways, she earned her Canadian Championship in December 1999.

Back in the U.S., at the BYC '99, she took Reserve Winners Bitch in June.  At the MN Anoka Game Fair show, she took Best of Opposite Sex, earning her first 4 U.S. championship points.  At the Region 3 & 4 Specialty in California in September '99, she took 1st place in the American Bred Class, wining a beautiful trophy.

With more show points toward her championship earned at Ft Atkinson WI in March of 2000, she went on to win two first place American-bred classes at the Gateway Classic in St.Louis, MO in May, Winner's Bitch at the Region 2 Specialty in Waukesha WI, and the Open Class at the MN Toller Picnic in Minnetonka in July.

In August she qualified for her US Championship when she passed the field work for a  BRT (Basic Retrieving and Tolling Test) in New Germany, MN She also had gained her third leg toward a CD (Companion Dog) obedience title at the Gateway Classic in May. It was a good year for her!

Bet on her 8th birthday.
Taking a break.
